Our appointment book is computerized which allows us to efficiently make appointments for you and your pet. Our receptionists and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability. Emergencies are accepted anytime our clinic is open. If you feel you have an emergency with your pet, please call us or come to the hospital immediately. If possible it is best to call before coming in so that a staff member can advise you on your particular emergency.
Northern Paws Animal Hospital and Animal Health Care Center in Rhinelander work together to provide 24 hour emergency care in our rural area. We provide this service for our clients and clients of Animal Health Care Center, or if your pet has an immediate life- threatening emergency. If your pet is a patient of another animal hospital and does not have a life- threatening emergency, please call the Paw Health Network in Mosinee (715)693-6934. If you have an after hours emergency, please call 715-369-4900 for more information. Examples of emergency situations can be things such as breathing difficulty, collapse, mouse/rat poison ingestion, a pet hit by car, or chocolate ingestion. If you ever feel that your pet needs emergency treatment during our office hours, do not hesitate to call. If possible it is best to call before coming in so that a team member can advise you on your particular emergency.
As Northern Paws Animal Hospital searches for a new associate veterinarian, we will not be accepting new clients. Please be patient with us as we go through this transition. Northern Paws Animal Hospital and Dr. Ray Goodroad provide services for most areas in the north woods, and because we will only have 1 doctor available, approximately every third weekend, we will be referring our patients to Paw Health Animal Emergency Center in Mosinee. We sincerely apologize for this and will continue to provide the same emergency services the remainder of the month. We are dedicated to providing you, our clients and patients, with the best possible care. If you have any concerns or questions, please ask any of our friendly staff. Thank you for your understanding and patience!
We are also available for urgent care during office hours when the condition is not life-threatening. We will squeeze you into our schedule to the best of our ability. Please call for these appointments so that we can limit waiting time as much as possible. When you arrive, our receptionists will be able to give you an estimate on how long you may have to wait in order to be seen.
Because a large number of veterinarians practice at Northern Paws Animal Hospital, we can care for many types of pets:
