COVID-19 Update 12/17/2020
As of Monday December 21, 2020, Northern Paws will return to our modified curbside services. This means that we will allow one adult per animal into the building for doctor appointments only. We ask that if you choose to enter the building for your pet's doctor appointment that you wear an appropriate mask during your entire visit. We will also provide hand sanitizer in our foyer to use as you enter the building. We also ask that you be prepared to hold your pet while the doctor performs his/her examination, knowing during this time we will not be able to maintain the 6 foot social distancing recommendation. We still ask that you call upon arrival, as we will only be bringing you in when the room and doctor are ready. If you prefer to remain in your car for your pet's appointment, please let us know when you call to check in.
We will remain curbside for medication, food, and supply pick up. Please continue to call these things in, in advance. We will also remain curbside for our technician appointments, when your pet is not seeing a doctor. Please continue to call us from the parking lot upon arrival and we will check you in over the phone. As the phone remains our first line of communication, please be patient if the line is busy and try again until you reach us. Again thank you for your continued patience!

We will also remain curbside for our technician appointments, when your pet is not seeing a doctor. Please continue to call us from the parking lot upon arrival and we will check you in over the phone. We will be allowing one or two adults into the building to be in a room with their pet(s) for doctor appointments. We still ask that you call upon arrival, as we will only be bringing you in when the room and doctor are ready. We will require a mast to be worn at all times by all people entering the building. COVID-19 Update Regarding Heartworm: 05/21/2020
Northern Paws Animal Hospital has been receiving some questions regarding the safety of starting heartworm preventatives prior to heartworm testing. While there is a small risk of starting preventatives if your pet is heartworm positive, our doctors feel it is best not to delay prevention. We will dispense Heartgard and flea/tick preventatives to you if your pet has been seen for a wellness appointment in the last 18 months, and if you gave these preventative medications according to label last year. We still strongly recommend heartworm testing for your pets this year during their annual wellness appointments. Please feel free to reach out to us if you have further concerns or questions! Thank you!
COVID-19 Update Regarding Appointments: 05/21/2020
Northern Paws Animal Hospital is now back to scheduling routine services for your furry family members! Please keep in mind that we are going to have a large influx of phone calls and appointment requests. Appointment requests can be made through Pet Desk anytime of the day, or by giving us a call. We suggest that you have a few date options in mind when calling, as our schedule will likely be booking out further than usual. In an effort to ensure the safety of you and our hospital staff we will remain curbside through at least the month of June. We appreciate your continued support and patience as we are all in this together!
COVID-19 Update 03/31/2020
As of Tuesday, March 31st, Northern Paws Animal Hospital will remain open but with curbside services only. Upon arrival for your pets appointment, medication refill or food pick up, please stay in your vehicle and call to notify us that you are here. We will then provide you with additional details. All medication and food pick ups must be called for in advance and paid for over the phone. For your convenience, we can also accept checks or exact cash transactions upon arrival. Thank you in advance for your patience as we navigate this together.
03/24/2020 COVID-19 Update
As of today, we are taking the next steps to follow new recommendations put in place by out governor and the WI Department of Agriculture. We will be canceling all routine/elective appointments and surgeries until further notice. We will still be here for medication refills, sick patients, and emergencies that you may encounter. We ask that you keep an eye on our Facebook page, website, and your email for updates on when we will be starting to reschedule these appointments. We are unable to reschedule appointments at this time due to the uncertainties with COVID-19. We will reach out to all current appointments and surgeries that need to be canceled. We thank you in advance for your understanding and patience.
Northern Paws Animal Hospital and our fellow pet hospitals play a vital role in the emotional well being of our community through ensuring their pets have the health care they need.
In response to COVID-19, Northern Paws Animal Hospital is making every effort to ensure the health and safety of our clients as well as our staff and their families. To do our part in slowing the spread of the virus yet continue to care for our patients, we are implementing the following protocols:
Please avoid coming to the clinic if you are not feeling well, or are experiencing flu like symptoms. If you need to cancel your appointment, please call us. If you are ill and your pet needs urgent care, call us for instructions.
During appointments we will be performing examinations in our treatment room by the doctor and a staff member. This will allow the staff member to assist the doctor and still maintain social distancing recommendations that have been put in place. The doctor will then go over any examination findings, recommendations, and answer any questions that you have about your pet.
We will be offering payment for prescriptions and foods over the phone to limit the amount of time spent waiting at the front desk. We can also bring these items to your vehicle upon your arrival by calling and letting us know to do so.
We are allowing one adult to be present during patient visits. If you would rather not come into our facility we can come to your vehicle and escort your pet into the hospital for examination. If you would rather stay in your vehicle until your appointment please call us upon your arrival and we will call you when the doctor is ready to see your pet.
We are currently providing non-urgent routine care as well as urgent and emergency care. This may change with identification of COVID-19 in our area.
Thank you for your understanding, patience, and cooperation as we face the challenges of the COVID-19 virus.
